Steamed Beef with Spicy Rice Powder

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lbs Beef
  • 1 cup Rice powder
  • 2 Green onions
  • 3 slices Ginger
  • 1 Star anise
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Wine
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Hot bean paste
  • 3 tablespoons Oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the beef into small slices about 1 1/2 inches square and 1/6 inch thick. Marinade in onion, ginger, star anise, soy sauce, wine, hot bean paste, sugar, salt and oil for about 30 minutes.
  2. After soaked, dredge each slice of beef with the rice powder. Then steam it in a shallow bowl over high heat for 20 minutes (if you use the special small steamer the time will be 15 minutes).
  3. Before serve, sprinkle some chopped green onion and brown peppercorn powder over the beef.
